Preparing To Start Therapy Is An Exciting Time

You Are Almost Ready to Make Your First Appointment

Prepare To Start Therapy

There are a few “housekeeping” things to do before we are ready to start therapy. They are very important to do.  Make sure you scroll down all the way to see the bottom of the page!!

1.  Please keep your kit in a safe place.  There is a $30 charge to replace and ship it to you.  Also, you need to take careful care of your ROM scale and cotton rolls, because you need them at the end of the program also!

2.  If you haven’t already done it, check your internet speed here. It’s very important that we know the speed in case there are technical issues. Your speed will be faster with the internet cable hooked directly to your computer instead of using Wi-Fi, if possible.

3.  It’s very important that you are familiar with your media settings and how to troubleshoot. Know how to make sure your camera and microphone work and where their settings are. Here is some information on checking your media settings.

4.  Send the last of your photos/videos. Make it super easy by SHARING the photos/videos via Google Drive or Dropbox where you can share the whole folder or email them to me at carmen@myofunctionaltherapy4u.com

5.  Watch the “Jump Into Therapy” video!  This is mandatory before the first session.  I introduce you to some important information that you need to be up to speed on before your first session!  I cannot possibly teach all of this in the first session so, please come prepared!

6.  Use the link provided in your Welcome to Therapy email to schedule your first appointment.

Incase You Need To Print Copies

PLEASE!!  PLEASE!!  Be sure to send these photos to carmen@myofunctionaltherapy4u.com

This might be a different email address than you normally use!

** Please make sure that all photos are clear and not blurry or too DARK.  If you have taken a photo inside the mouth and it’s dark, please RETAKE IT WITH A FLASH or in better lighting!  A blurry or dark photo is not diagnostic.  Save time by making sure your photos are useful!

If you’ve already taken the necessary photos for your comprehensive evaluation, you only need to send the ones you haven’t yet taken, and any retakes that we asked for.

19.  Using cheek retractors, Capture 2 or 3 swallows so that I can evaluate the swallowing pattern and tongue thrust.
